William "Bill" Williams

 William J. (Bill) Williams, 53, of Greene, NY passed away on May 29, 2024.

Born August 1, 1970, he is predeceased by parents, Basil J. (Bud) Williams and Gerry-Lou (Samson) Williams.  He is survived by sons, William and Ray Williams; siblings, LuAnn (Michael Benjamin) Pinney, and Basil (Karen) Williams; all of Greene, NY; girlfriend, Trina Leonard of Smithville Flats, NY; aunts, Mary Lou Williams of South Glens Falls, NY and Betty Pulse of Reistertown, MD, as well as a large number of cousins and longtime friends. Bill was a lifelong resident of Greene, NY.  He graduated from Greene Central School, and earned his Bachelors degree in Hotel Management from the University of Buffalo.  He started his career at the Adams Mark Hotel in Buffalo NY, later advancing to Director of Sales at the Doubletree Hotel in Syracuse where he spent several years.  Most recently, he worked as Vice President of Sales for Highgate Hotels. Bill’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and traveling, which he did for both business and pleasure.  He loved trying new restaurants and new foods.  His favorite activity was spending time with family and friends.  His home was the favored gathering place for all - good times, good food, and laughs were frequently shared there.  He was an excellent chef who could whip up a delicious dish by just pulling miscellaneous ingredients out of his refrigerator as well as a master at the grill. He was a loving father who cherished his boys and was very proud of their accomplishments, as well as the young men they had become.  He recently found true happiness with Trina Leonard, and her children Clayton and Grant.  He was a beloved son, brother, partner - family meant everything to him.  His loss is profoundly felt by many. A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held at a later date.  Donations in his memory can be made to the Greene Emergency Squad, 30 Birdsall Street, Greene NY 13778.  Arrangements are under the direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 N.
