Wayne P. Ryman, 82, of Chenango Forks (North Fenton), Our beloved husband and father passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, surrounded by family who loved him deeply.
He was predeceased by his parents, Paul T. Ryman and Beatrice L. (Harris) Ryman.
He is survived by his wife, Olga J. (Lum) Ryman, daughter Renee Y. (Ryman) Marano and her husband Lawrence Marano, son Marshall W. Ryman, grandson Joshua V. Hill and his fiancé Kristen Emerson, and great granddaughter Emerald M.M. Hill.
A proud Army veteran and a man of tireless work ethic, Dad lived a life full of grit, adventure, and heart. He spent years drilling for minerals, from the Artic Circle in Alaska to the Gulf of America (Mexico). Also, various other drilling activities of drilling in salt and coal mines, test borings for nuclear power plants, bridges, buildings and other various areas.
Later, he poured his creativity and determination into his businesses when he reopened his custom upholstery business. Also, running an antique store, and picking treasures at flea markets, auctions and garage sales. His passion for finding the value in old things was matched only by his joy in antique tractors, engines and the camaraderie of the tractor and engine clubs.
Beyond his work, Dad gave us the greatest gift memories. I’ll never forget our walks together in the woods, target shooting, the thrill of snowmobiling through the snow, camping, or the daily joy of feeding our barnyard full of pigs, cows, chickens, a pony, and our dogs Ernie and Tippy, cats White Socks and Boots and other activities. He taught us how to work hard, laugh often, and love the simple moments.
Even in retirement he was always working and puttering on something in his shop.
In his final days, he was never alone. We were with him, and he knew, without question, how much he was loved. And we knew how much he loved us.
