Virginia Webb-Sholar Obituary

Virginia (Jenny) Webb-Sholar (nee Morin), 75, of Greene passed away August 21, 2021 at her home. She was born in Carthage, New York to the late Romeo L. and Mildred Egan Morin formerly of Bridgewater, NY and Coventry, NY. She is also predeceased by her three sons, Clifford James Webb, Romeo Scott Webb and Charles James Webb; paternal grandparents, John Baptiste and Mathilde (LaNoue) Morin formerly of Marathon, NY and Quebec, Canada; maternal grandparents, James and Emma (Babcock) Egan formerly of LaFargeville, NY; sister, Barbara Page formerly of Benton, KY; brother-in-law, Ken Tarbell formerly of Murphy, NC; aunt and uncle Georgette and Walter of Camillus, NY and uncles, Leo Morin and Robert Morin and Patricia Morin of Booneville NY. Jenny is survived by her 2 daughters, Tammy (Gene) Hatton of Greene, NY and Vicki (L. Alan) Phifer of Norfolk, VA; 2 sisters, Mary Tarbell of Myrtle Beach, SC and Beverly Eckert of Rome, NY; 3 grandchildren, Tanya Hatton, Tracy Hatton and Tyler (Courtney) Goodrich; 1 great grandchild, Daisy Ann Goodrich; 2 stepchildren, Karen Perez of Newport News, VA and Richard C. Sholar Jr (Heather). of Freeville, NY; 8 step grandchildren, Michael DiBella, Destiny Sholar, Daraza Sholar, Nicholas Perez and Alexa Perez, Mackenzie Scholar, Elizabeth Scholar, Ayden Scholar; 1 uncle, James (Carol) Egan of Coatesville, PA; 3 aunts, Margaret Schumacher of Harrisburg, PA, and Joyce Morin of Quackertown, PA; many nieces, nephews and cousins from both the Morin and Sholar sides of the family that she deeply loved. Jenny grew up in Chenango County living in various towns and she also lived in McGraw for 15 years before moving back to Greene. She retired from the Raymond Corporation after 23 years of service. She was the President of the Morin family reunions for over 10 years and was also the family historian for both the Morin and Sholar families. Jenny loved to do research for her family and friends. A memorial service will be held 2:00PM Saturday, September 18th at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778. Friends of the family may call from 1:00PM until time of service at the funeral home. If lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jenny’s name to one of her favorite charities the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Road, Wilton, NH 03086, the Greene Emergency Squad, 30 Birdsall Street, Greene, New York 13778 or Chenango County Hospice, 33-39 Court Street, Norwich, New York 13815.
