Vincent J. Granata Jr.

Vincent James Granata, 76, of Greene, NY, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024. Vincent (Vince) was born on November 28, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, to Vincent Sr. and Mildred Granata.  Vince migrated to Oxford, NY from Long Island in his twenties and was followed by his parents and two brothers. A passionate gardener, Vince cultivated a vibrant garden and was proud of his organic vegetables. He was a skilled cook, renowned for his delicious meals (especially his meatballs). Music was a lifelong passion; he enjoyed singing and playing guitar, especially around a bonfire, creating warm and memorable moments.  Vince had a successful career as a self-employed Architectural Designer. He also enjoyed teaching AutoCAD through Chenango County BOCES, forging lasting bonds with many of his students. In his younger years, he graced the stage in productions such as "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Jesus Christ Superstar," showcasing his talent and love for the performing arts. Vince was a kind, humorous, and generous soul who always put his loved ones first. He is survived by his ex-wife, Susan Granata; his three children and their spouses, Vincent and Marisol Santella, Danielle and David Tierno, and Babbett and Jereme Lehmer; his brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Selena Granata; his sister-in-law, Sandra Granata and his grandchildren, Vincent Santella Jr., Anthony Santella, Johanna and Carlo Sabellecchi, Faith Tierno, Isabella Tierno, and Trinity Lehmer; great-grandchildren, Myla and Luca Sabellecchi; his “adopted daughter and grandson”, Shauna Weingartner and Aiden Hill; his furbaby, Jynx; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Mildred Granata, and his brother, George Granata. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
