Sharon L. Fowler, 85, of Greene passed away on June 1, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband, Walter; parents, Norman and Florence Ludlam and her loving dog, Dusty. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, William and Jennifer Fowler of Greene; daughter, Barbara Putrino of Endwell; grandchildren, Mallory and Joshua Fowler, Dominic Putrino; sister and brother-in-law, Betsy and John Mastropietro; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Richard and Devie Ludlam, James Ludlam and several nieces and nephews. She was a 72 year member of First Congregational Church UCC in Greene - where she was very involved in the Women's Fellowship group, served as the Prayer Chain Leader, as a Deacon and as a Parish Nurse. Sharon was a very proud Wilson Memorial Hospital trained Registered Nurse and retired from the New York State Veterans’ Home in Oxford after many years of dedicated and faithful service to the residents there, where she had been honored as Nurse of the Year. She was a long time board member of RTF Children’s Home, in Greene. From the time she was little, Sharon enjoyed Adirondack Mountains and Lakes, as well as camping with friends and family. She often spoke the trip she and Walter took to Alaska and after his passing - looked forward to spending part of the summer with her kids and grandkids, at their special destination on Big Moose Lake. She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and friend. A funeral and committal service will be held 4:00pm Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at First Congregational Church UCC in Greene. Rev Curtis Whitman will officiate. Friends of the family may call Tuesday, June 7, 2022 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Root Funeral Home 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778.
