Ruth B. Young

Ruth B. Young, 78 of Greene passed peacefully with her daughter by her side on December 22, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Young and by stepson, Trevor Young. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brandi and Scott Craver; grandchildren, Scotia Craver and Ashton Craver; stepdaughter and her husband, Tracey and Eric D’Arcy;  step-grandchildren, Jenna (Cupp) Jacobson and Taylor Cupp; sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Rick Centerwall; niece, Sabra Anders and nephew, Graham Centerwall. Ruth was a graduate of Afton Central School and earned an A.A. in interior design from Broome Community College. She owned and operated two successful businesses and retired at an early age. The retirement lifestyle was too slow for Ruth and she decided to explore a hobby in real estate which became her passion and second career. Ruth enjoyed serving her clients and cared more about the client than the commission. Ruth’s most valued treasure and greatest pride was her family.  We will always remember her extravagant Christmas celebrations and annual family vacations at the Shore. The family extends special thanks to Alexandra Birner for helping Ruth live her best life and to Molly Nolan for sharing bright memories and much laughter. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Monday, December 30, 2024 at First United Methodist Church of Greene, 32 S. Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. Rev. Michele Clark will officiate. Friends of the family may call from 11:00am until the time of service at the church.
