Ruth E. Kinney

Ruth E. Kinney, 87, of Greene passed away on November 21, 2023. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Gertrude Burns; infant twins, Joey Lee and Jimmy Lee; son, Bryon; sister, Sara McFarland; brother, Charles; 2 sister-in-laws, Rose Burns and Margaret Burns. She is survived by her son, Bruce Kinney of Greene; son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Anna Kinney of Clifton Park; daughter and son-in-law, Joy and Dana Ketcham of Greene; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brother, Miles Burns of Smithville; brother, Robert Burns of Lincklaen; brother, Richard Burns of Grand Junction, CO; several nieces and nephews. Ruth graduated from Greene Central Schools in 1953. She was a Chenango County Public House Health Aide from 1973 to 1997. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene  NY 13778. Burial will follow after the service in Maple Grove Cemetery, Smithville. Friends of the family may call 10:00am to 12:00pm at Root Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Greene Fire Department and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
