Robert (Sr.) Hoag

Robert James Hoag Sr., 86, of Greene passed away at home on April 23, 2022. He was born January 22, 1936 in Greene to the late James and Elizabeth Anna Hoag. He is also predeceased by his wife, JoAnn Hoag; son, Robert Hoag Jr.; sister, Beulah Hoag Brown; brother, William Hoag; son-in-law, James Burnett; step-son, Michael Stone and grandson, Brian Libous. He is survived by his daughter, Tanya (Kim) Fazio of Tega Cay, SC; son, Randy (Nina) Hoag of Fort Mill, SC; daughter, Vickie (Mike) Crowley of Guilford, VT; daughter, Melissa Burnett (Fiancé Brian DeStepen) of Greene; step-daughters, Linda (John) Davis and Donna Stone; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Bob was a lifelong resident of Greene. He was passionate about supporting Greene athletics and volunteered countless hours giving back to the community he loved. He was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church for over 70 years. He was employed by the Raymond Corporation for 45 years and was a volunteer for the Greene Fire Dept and Emergency Squad for 32 years. During his retirement years, he worked at Root Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11:00am Thursday April 28 at Zion Episcopal Church, 10 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday April 27 at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Greene Emergency Squad, 30 Birdsall St, Greene, NY 13778.
