Robert D. Alger Sr.

Robert D. Alger Sr., 84, of Greene went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his parents, Roland and Marjorie Alger; and sister, Donna Ingraham. Bob is survived by his loving wife of almost 64 years, Suzanne (Ingraham) Alger; son and daugher-in-law, Robert and Lynne Alger Jr., daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Jasen Bassett; grandchildren, Christopher (Cheryl) Alger, Aaron Alger, Alicia (Tom) Caraway, and Collin Bassett; great-grandchildren, Serenity Alger and Martin Alger; sisters, Judy (Bill) Ingraham and Phyllis Christian; brother-in-law, Tom Ingraham; his loving dog, Daisy; and many nieces and nephews. Bob worked and retired from Raymond Corporation after many years of service. He was an avid golfer and hunter. He and Shirley loved traveling in their camper. He enjoyed home improvements, working in his woodshop and family barbecues. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am Friday, April 17 at Central Baptist Church, 37 S. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. Burial at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery to follow.
