Richard "Dick" Nowalk

Richard M. Nowalk, 91, of Greene was reunited with his loving wife, Barbara on April 8, 2026. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda; parents, Frank and Julia Nowalk; great-grandchild, River; and several siblings. He is survived by his son, David (Deborah) Nowalk; son, DJ (Tammy) Nowalk; grandchildren, Angela (Chris), Shelby (Shane), Sierra (Beau), Skyler (Christopher), Savannah (Tyler), Lance and Josh; 7 great-grandchildren; several brothers and a sister; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Dick served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1959. He worked and retired from Raymond Corporation after 36 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and going to the casino. He spent much of his time outdoors and even cut his own wood up until his 90th birthday. He also cherished going hunting up at the Nowalk hunting camp with his family and friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Tuesday, April 14 at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call from 10:00am until the time of service at Root Funeral Home. Burial will take place with military honors at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Greene EMS, 30 Birdsall St, Greene, NY 13778 or the Greene Fire Department,  8 North Canal St, Greene, NY 13778.
