Richard W. White

Richard White, (Dick White) 86, of Greene passed away peacefully on May 17th, 2025, after a long battle with Dementia. He is predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Marie White; brother, Ernest White and sister, Irene Barnes. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Julia White; daughter, Debbie Markham (Jeff); son, Mark White; son, Brian White (Beth); daughter, Lynnette White (Tim); daughter, Dawn White; grandson, Nicholas Markham; granddaughter, Gabriella Markham; 2 sisters, Ruth Kimber and Dorothy Canova. Richard worked for the Greene Post Office for 32 years. When Richard was not out delivering the mail, he was sure to be found with his family or at the Sawmill. Richard was proud to be an active member of Greene and always happy to help a friend in need. He supplied many people with warm houses over the years with his love and passion for his Sawmill and firewood business. He enjoyed spending his time at the wood lot cutting trees to be sawn into lumber or made into firewood.  He loved watching his shows like Axe men or anything related to forestry as this was his true passion. Richard lived his life with the love, hard work and determination at home until the very end. He was a loving husband, devoted family man and cared more about others than himself. He had a soft heart for animals as he deeply cared about his cats. He will be missed deeply by family, friends and customers. Calling hours for friends and family will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Root Funeral Home.
