Richard N. Utter

On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, Richard Neil Utter passed away at the age of 87. A lifelong resident of Greene, Richard was an avid golfer and bowler.  He was predeceased his wife, Carol; parents, Neil and Iva Utter, brothers, Donald, Robert, William, Ronald, and Neil Jr.; children, Kirk Utter and Nancy Utter Palmer. Richard is survived by his children, Linda and Ben Johnson, Rick and Jodie Utter, Steve and Donna Utter, Amy and Rick Johnson, Jim and Kim Utter, and Doug Palmer; 12 grandchildren, Chanell, Carol Lynn, Loretta, Kristi, Lindsey, Aaron, Brandon, Jeremiah, Elizabeth, Ashley, Matthew, and Makalya; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, James and Sandra, Ila Jean and Andy, John and Terry, Beverly and John; sister-in-law, Pat, and several nieces and nephews. His skill as an upholsterer and artist continued to excel into his later years. He enjoyed spending time and sharing his stories with family and friends.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greene Emergency Squad, 30 Birdsall Street, Greene, New York 13778. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date by Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
