Renee LaPorte (Nowalk) Obituary

Renee Lynn (Nowalk) LaPorte, 53, of Greene, New York walked peacefully surrounded by love into the arms of our Lord where she was greeted by those who passed on before her on Sunday, December 21, 2025.

She is survived and will forever be missed by her parents, Edward and Barbara Nowalk; sister, Lisa Dunlap (Robert Ennist); her children, Tyler Moore, Lacie Pepe (Andrew), Jenna LaPorte and Cole LaPorte (and their father, Albert LaPorte, Jr.) as well as her niece, Kaileigh Dunlap (Travis Pecka). Grandchildren, Atticus Moore, Elise, Will, Claire and Norah Pepe, Mason and Liam Tynon, and her great-nephews, Jaxson and Parker Pecka.

She is also survived by many close and dear friends, family, co-workers, her Berean Bible Church Family, who endlessly supported her and our family along her journey. Although too many friends and family to list, we offer our deepest appreciation and gratitude to Patricia Figary and her family – Larry, Theresa and Stephanie.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Frank and Julia Nowalk, Doris Lynn, Keith Clark, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Renee was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the Office of Special Education at Greene Central School until the time of her passing – a job she was deeply passionate about and found great fulfillment in watching children reach their utmost potential. Her dedication and love for her school community will always be remembered.

Renee held dear the memories of sleepovers with Lisa at their Grandma, Doris Lynn’s house, family gatherings and vacations to the Thousand Island region and relaxing at Lake Ludlow. The outdoors was where Renee found her greatest peace – exploring nature, gathering around campfires, sharing stories under the starry sky, relaxing by the stillness of a lake. She cherished moments spent with her family and friends, Mom, Dad, Sister, children, grandchildren and her nephews, where there was never a shortage of laughter and an adventure to find. These moments were opportunities for bonding, reflection and creating unforgettable memories. Renee’s legacy lives on in the joyful memories she created and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Renee’s journey is complete and she gave an incredible example of how to live well even in the hardest times. Her spirit will always be remembered in the laughter, stories, and adventures that shaped her remarkable life. We rejoice knowing she is reunited with her loved ones, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant”. (Matthew 25:23).

We are forever grateful for all the doctors, nurses and staff for their tender and passionate care of Renee, but especially grateful for the love and compassion received by Lourdes Hospice and the caregivers and volunteers at The Mercy House, Endicott, New York.

Services will be held at Berean Bible Church, 109 County Road 2, Greene, New York on January 3, 2026 with a time of remembrance beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by a service at 1:00 pm.
