In Loving Memory of Patricia S Shoemaker
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Patricia S Shoemaker, who passed away peacefully on July 1, 2026, surrounded by the LOVE of her family.
For 57 wonderful years, she shared a beautiful life with the love of her life, Gary C. Shoemaker. Together they built a family rooted in love, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion.
She was the proud and loving mother of Michael G. Shoemaker (Esther), James A. Shoemaker (Christina), and Paula J. Estabrook (Andrew). Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren: Carley and Jacob Shoemaker; Alexander, Joshua, and Nicholas Shoemaker; and Baileigh and Paige Estabrook, along with her treasured great-grandson, Jackson Savory. She also lovingly embraced Esther's sons, Daniel (Amanda) and David, and their children, Sophie, Ryan and Weston as part of her ever-growing family. As our family continued to grow, she lovingly welcomed every grandchild and great-grandchild by marriage or circumstance as her own, never making a distinction when it came to love.
She dedicated more than 40 years to MacCrabie's Auto/NAPA Auto Parts, where she became much more than an employee—she became family to her coworkers and a trusted friend to countless customers. She knew auto parts like the back of her hand, and people often came in asking specifically for her because they knew she would always have the answer. She loved talking with customers, making them laugh, and every now and then sharing one of her infamous dirty jokes. She also looked forward to playing quarters with Gerry Turner at NAPA, a tradition that brought plenty of laughs over the years.
Outside of work, she enjoyed trying her luck. Whether it was playing slot machines, poker, buying scratch-off tickets, or any game of chance, she found joy in the excitement and loved every minute of it.
She was one of fifteen siblings and cherished the large family she grew up with. She was preceded in death by her siblings Michael, Jeanne, Darlene, and Judy. She was also predeceased by her parents, Ralph Osburn and Isabelle Luther Osburn. She is lovingly survived by her brothers and sisters Ozzie (Cathy), Danny (Gloria, Dee), Sandy (Carey), Raebelle (Robert), Buddy (Mary Kay), Chuck (Donna), John (Debbie, Teri, Laura), Eddie (Nancy), Chip (Kathy), and Pinky (Preston) along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
To know her was to love her. She was kind beyond measure, endlessly patient, funny, and fiercely loving. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and cared for, whether they were family, friends, coworkers, or customers walking through the doors at NAPA. She had a quick wit, an infectious laugh, and a heart that always put others first.
She faced her battle with cancer with remarkable courage and grace. Even in her most difficult days, she thought first of those she loved. While our hearts are broken by her loss, we find comfort knowing she is finally free from pain.
Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the friendships she nurtured, the customers whose lives she brightened, and the countless acts of kindness she showed throughout her life. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
