Patricia L. Chapman

Patricia L. Chapman, 92 of Greene, formerly of Equinunk, PA and Johnson City passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022 in her home surrounded by family. She was predeceased by her parents, Murrel and Dorothy Ellis; sister, Rozanne (Harold); brothers, Robert and Murrel (Bill) Jr.; husband, Wayne L. Chapman Sr.; son, Ralph Chapman and son-in-law, Charles Gillmer. Patricia is survived by three sons, Wayne L. Chapman Jr., Russell L. Chapman and wife, Bridgett and Gary L. Chapman and wife, Connie; two daughters, Cheryl L. Gillmer and Patty L. Washburn and husband, Michael; special nephew, Ray Croop and special niece, Dorothea Crandall. Patricia is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Patricia loved her family. She was well known for making her famous Candy Apples & Popcorn Balls. She loved cooking, traveling and was an avid quilter for several years with the Equinunk Quilters Guild. Patricia retired from the Hidden Valley Girl Scout Camp and River Mede Manor Nursing Home. A big thank you to Chenango County Hospice, Nurse Melissa and Caregivers, Cassy and Shelly. The family would also like to thank the Greene Emergency Squad, Greene Community Services and Root Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held 11:00am Saturday at the Berean Bible Church, 109 County Rd 2, Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call from 5:00 to 7:00PM Friday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692 or the Greene Emergency Squad, 30 Birdsall St, Greene, NY 13778.
