Michael W. Mullenax Jr.

Michael W. Mullenax Jr., 57, of Greene, passed away on March 10, 2020 with his family by his side.  He was predeceased by his father, Michael Sr. and an infant sister, Michele.  He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Cindy) of 37 years; son, Michael Mullenax; mother, Mary Wilcox; sisters, Teresa Miller and Bonnie (Mike) Bartle; beloved grandchildren, Alexander Michael Mullenax  and Ophelia Mae Mullenax;  nieces, Renee Traver, Heather (Dan) Montgomery and their children Logen & Harlee;  mother-in-law, Marion Gerst and longtime friends, Michael Baldo & Mark Colwell. Mike was a graduate of Greene Central School, he served his country in the United States Army and drove tractor trailer for CCX (Conway) for several years.  He was a member of the Greene Fire Department, Greene Emergency Squad, Greene Rod and Gun Club and the Oxford American Legion.  Mike loved to play poker and enjoyed his Tuesday morning outings at the Gun Club and Wednesday nights at the Legion. Mike’s grandson Xander was his best buddy and his granddaughter Opie was Papa’s little Strawberry.  His grandchildren brought him strength to deal with his multiple health issues over the past few years. In his free time, Mike loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  His hope was to pass on his knowledge and stories of this to his son and grandson. A special thank you to the Greene Emergency Squad, Twin Tier Home Health Care, Dr. Nichols & the UHS Wound Care Team, Dr. Cloud, Dr. Speicher, Dr. Williams, and the compassionate nurses at Binghamton General Hospital. A memorial service will be held 12:00PM Saturday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778. Friends of the family may call from 10:00AM until time of service. Donations may be made to the Greene Emergency Squad or Greene Fire Department in memory of Mike.
