Obituary
Llewellyn Stephen Walling, 92, of Greene passed away on May 20, 2023. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara; parents, Stephen and Marguerite; sister, Joyce and sons, David and Dennis. Lew is survived by his son, Daniel (April); daughter, Donna Schalk (Daniel); grandchildren, Justin Walling, Tyler Walling, Nathan Halsteter and Kevin Halsteter; great-grandchildren, Jayme and Micayla Walling. After high school Lew enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. After returning to the States he married Barbara White and helped raise their four children. He was a retiree of the Raymond Corporation and attended the Central Baptist Church in Greene. A memorial service will be held 10:00am Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Central Baptist Church, 37 South Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. Burial with military honors will follow at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
