It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father, Lawrence G. Sherwood on March 11, 2026 at the age of 91. He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara with whom he shared 70 years of marriage. He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Theresa), Mark (Brenda), Todd (Julie) and Scott; daughter, Diane (Tim) Jenks; six grandchildren, Brad (Corinne) Sherwood, Lisa Sherwood, Danny (April) Sherwood, Kelsey (Amanda) Jenks, Meghan (Rickey) Bronson and Peter Sherwood; ten great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Paul and Bruce Sherwood.
Larry was a thirty plus year employee of the IBM Corporation. After retirement he went on to drive bus for the Chenango Forks School District, making many cherished friends, namely Bob Place. Dad resided at Willow Point Nursing Home for the past three years, where he also made many cherished friends. We would like to thank the entire Willow Point staff for their love and care during Dad's time spent there. Also to his many close friends for their many visits and companionship.
A funeral service will be announced at a later date this Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Fenton United Methodist Church, PO Box 175, Chenango Forks, NY 13746, where Larry was a longtime member. Arrangements are under direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
