Kathy Rae Pier, 69, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on March 2, 2026. Born on July 27, 1956, to Irvin Edwin Kisner and Nancy E. Callan, Kathy lived a life rooted in devotion, strength, and unwavering love for those closest to her.
Kathy was the cherished wife of John Pier, her loving husband of 44 years. Their marriage was built on commitment, partnership, and deep affection, creating a foundation of love that carried through their family.
She was a proud mother to Donald Charlie (Brandy) Badger III, Wendy Pisani, Chet (Christa) Badger, and Rachel Badger. Her children were her greatest joy, and she supported them wholeheartedly in every chapter of their lives. Kathy’s heart expanded even more with the arrival of her grandchildren: Jordan Pisani, Alyssa Pisani, Dustin (Amanda) Badger, and Sierra (Matt) Badger, Taylor Badger, Robbie German. She was especially blessed to become a great-grandmother to Brinlee, Aubrey, Presley, and Colter. She is also survived by her brothers and a sister: Robert (Connie) Kisner, Lawrence (Brenda) Kisner, Laurie (Ben) Franklin, and Charles (Julie) Kenyon. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.
Kathy also held a special place in her heart for her close friends, Debbie Prindle and Hawk (Rosey) Badger Jr., whose friendship brought her comfort, laughter, and unwavering support throughout the years. She deeply valued the bond she shared with her siblings and cherished the lifelong connections she maintained with family and friends, keeping those relationships close to her heart.
Kathy will be remembered for her feisty spirit, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to her family, her legacy lives on through her family, who will carry her memory in their hearts always. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. At the family request there will be no services. Arrangements are by Root Funeral Home, 23 N.
