Kathrine H. Schultz, 92, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 22, 2018. Born September 21, 1925, she was predeceased by her husband, Chester Schultz, Sr., daughters, Rebecca Lewis and Alline Westergaard; brothers, Joseph and Loren Winn and sister, Louise “Lanella” Scott. “Grandma Kathrine”, as she was known by many, is survived by daughters, Lorena Schultz, Constance (Steven) Osborne and sons, Chester (Renee) Schultz and Donald Glen (Deborah) Schultz; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and friends Juanita and Wayne Morgan who were special to her and remain so to our family. Her days were most joyfully filled when she had babies to raise, whether family or friends. She loved her church family. Kathrine spent her entire life giving to others, even extending into her professional career as a nurses’ aide at the Binghamton Psychiatric Center. She loved to travel the country by car with her beloved Chet, Sr. She was known to be a prayer warrior keeping a daily prayer journal. Her home was always open to family, friends, and strangers alike. She danced to our enjoyment and laughed with us and at us. She was a lifelong learner who loved to read and write. Mom had the red-headed, adventurous spirit and lived the “can do” attitude found in a child of the Great Depression. She was a positive example to us all. We are sad she is gone but celebrate her graduation. When asked by family how she wanted to be remembered, she responded, “My letter writing in support of family, friends and missionaries, volunteer work leading the Seniors Program at Berean Bible Church, love of family and love for the Lord.” A funeral service will be held 4:00pm August 30 at Berean Bible Church, 109 County Rd 2, Greene, NY 13778. Calling hours will be from 1:00pm until the time of the service at the Church. A private graveside service will be held at Vestal Hills Memorial Park at a later date. Arrangements are under direction of Root Funeral Home 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene New York 13778 and condolences may be made to the family at www.rootfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Berean Bible Church.
