Joyce M. Poole

Joyce M. Poole, 90 of German went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick T. Poole Jr. and by her son, Dean Poole. She is survived by 2 daughters, Darlene (Neil) Mingrone and Christine Poole (Tracy Elderkin); son, Mark Poole; 4 grandchildren, Jessica (Phill), Sarah Mingrone, Michael Mingrone, Candyce Guile; 7 great-grandchildren, Chloe Keizer, Lacey Keizer, Aiden Keizer, Hayleigh Keizer, Carley Guile, Cameron Loughran, Riley Frayer; 2 sisters, Dawn Hannah and Gloria Tulp. Joyce proudly served her country during the Korean Conflict in the US Marine Corps. She had a witty sense of humor and was loved by all who knew her. She was a proud and loving mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. A funeral service will be held 7:00pm Monday, October 23, 2023 at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. Private burial with military honors will be in NY State Veterans’ Home Cemetery. Friends of the family may call Monday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Root Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank the staff at NYS Veterans’ Home and especially Oak Cottage for their love, comfort and prayers during this difficult time.
