Joseph "Joe" H. Hoyt

Joseph H. Hoyt, Joe, of Smithville Flats, NY, passed away on October 14 at the age of 74.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Dorothy (Kruger).  He is survived by his wife Ruth; son, Mike and daughter-in-law Kate and their son, Sam of Seattle, WA; son, Jake of Greene, NY; brother, Bill and his wife Alice of Greene, NY and sister, Mary of Jacksonville, FL.
Joe was born and raised in Greene, NY.  After graduating he ultimately enlisted in the US Army and served in Vietnam.  Upon returning he worked as a machinist for several years before starting his own machine shop business.  He was an avid outdoorsman, loved hunting dogs, and had a passion for all shooting sports but particularly clay target shooting. There will be no services. His wishes were to be cremated and his ashes will be spread.  Arrangements are under the direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 N.
