Joseph L. Woerter Jr.

Joseph L. Woerter, 85, of Greene, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Joseph V. Woerter, Rick and (Audrey )Woerter, Linda and (Michael )Hicks; 2 grandchildren, Rochelle and Rory Hicks; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and (Barbara) Woerter and sister, Jeanne Tucek. In his early years Joe served in the Air Force for four years stationed from Florida to Alaska and Maine. He worked at Raymond Corporation for 31 years and always enjoyed the people that he worked with. In addition he served on the Greene Town  Board and the Norwich County Board for several years. He was a strong Mets fan through thick and thin. He was interested in the history and stories of any type of aircraft. He enjoyed feeding and watching the birds in his backyard. Often he could be found at his computer learning about anything that caught his eye. Joe loved his home and his family. This was very important to him. His grandchildren Rory and Rochelle were special highlights in his life. He was a strong-willed and determined man who always hoped for peace on earth. He had a strong faith in God and left everything up to him. The end of a perfect day to Joe would be a piece of pizza and a cold Blue Moon. He will be missed by his family and all that loved him.
