John M. Wilber

John M. Wilber, 85, of Greene, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at his home after a long illness. He was predeceased by his daughter, Juanita Sue Acker. John is survived by his wife, Cassie; 4 children and spouses, John and Tanya Wilber Sherman of NC, Rachel and Juan Solabac of Oxford, Timothy Wilber of Sidney, James Wilber of Smyrna; 5 stepchildren, James, Ivan, Douglas, Jason Small of Greene ,Teresa Sagner of Missouri; 9 grandchildren; 2 brothers and sister-in-law, Bob and Jane Wilber of NJ, Ferris Wilber of Endicott. John was a Korean War Veteran having served  in the U.S. Army. He was a dairy farmer in Afton for over 20 years and enjoyed fishing. The family wishes to thank Dr. Frants and Chenango Hospice for their care of John. Private services are under direction of Root Funeral Home 23 N.
