John G. Simpson Sr.

John G. Simpson Sr., 73, of Smithville Flats went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Barb Simpson; son, TJ Simpson; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Simpson. He is survived by his loving spouse of 23 years, Marilyn Simpson; son and daughter-in-law, John and Heather Simpson Jr.; daughter, Susan Torto; 9 grandchildren; stepchildren, Brandi Talmage, Bridget Breed, Ronald Seeley and Scott Seeley; siblings, Barb Sinovich, James Simpson, Mark Simpson, Timothy Simpson, Luke (Shirley) Simpson, Paul (Meresa) Simpson, Clifford (Bonnie) Simpson, Matt Simpson, Kezia (Steve) Bartholomew, Sarah Tubbs; and several nieces and nephews. John was a loving husband and father. He was loved and respected by his family and friends. John was a very talented man. He was a master at metal fabrication. He built an entire car himself from the ground up and lovingly called it "The Rat Rod" and it was his pride and joy. John spent many hours in his garage creating and working on old cars.
