Irving DeBruce Youngs

Irving DeBruce Youngs, 100, of Oxford passed away on September 5, 2022. He was predeceased by his wife, Marietta Mead; son, Douglas P. Youngs; grandson, Donald Heck; granddaughter, Carlene Youngs; 7 brothers and 5 sisters.. Bruce is survived by 2 daughters and son-in-law, Ella, Janice and James D. Smith; grandson, Matthew S. Smith and wife, Danielle; great-granddaughters, DJ, Justess and Reghan; grandsons, Bruce Youngs and wife, Lori and their family, Steve Youngs and wife Jodi and their family; granddaughter, Mary Hamilton and family as well as many great-great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Bruce operated a dairy farm in Tyner, was a Veterinarian’s Assistant and delivered feed from the I. L. Richer Company to many local farms for 38 years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and square dancing with his wife. He went to horse and pony pulls and logged wood with horses. He liked operating heavy equipment but his main focus was his time with family. A funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, September 10, 2022 at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. Burial will be made in JD Lewis Cemetery in Preston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Emergency Squad, 20 Main Street, Oxford, NY 13830.
