Ian R. Shafer
Port Crane, NY - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ian R. Shafer, 37, of Port Crane, NY. Ian passed away peacefully on March 29, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, soul mate and best friend, Marlana Shafer; daughters, Makaella and Aaliyah Shafer; parents, Judy and Richard Lance; brother, Richard Lance Jr., sister, Sarah Lance; half-brother,Taylor, half-sister, Brooke, along with their father, Ian’s biological father, Bob Noble; mother and father-in-law, Mary and Michael Belo; 2 brothers-in-law, Andy and Ryan Belo, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and also by his closest friend, Jake Kellem. Ian worked as a general carpenter as well as many side jobs and most recently was working to start his own business.
His love of family remain strong. He enjoyed having barbecues with family, friends and neighbors. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed camping, going to local fairs, weekend card games, and UFC fight nights. He was always the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.
At Ian’s request there will be no viewing hours or funeral but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
