Grant Sullivan

Grant Sullivan, 96, of Greene passed away at his daughter Mary’s house on Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was predeceased by his loving wife of sixty nine and one half years, Marion Sullivan; his parents, William and Almyra Sullivan; twin brother, Gordon; brother, Richard; sisters, Ellen Freelove, Joyce Griffen and Betty Sullivan. He is survived by his children, Grant Sullivan Jr of Manchester NH, Harry Sullivan of Stow, Ohio, Myra Fanning of Greene, Mary and Edgar Barnes of Greene, Richard Sullivan of Greene and Raymond Sullivan of Greene; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Pearl Cook; brother-in-law Harold Griffen. Grant and Marion were lifetime members of First United Methodist Church in Greene and worked many years at the Apple Festival. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband. Grant was hard working, dependable, reliable, trustworthy and creative. He loved gardening and had beautiful flower beds at his home in Greene. He was involved with the Boy Scouts for many years. He was a dairy farmer for many years before working at the lumber yard for many years. A funeral service will be held 11:00am Thursday at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. Burial will be in North Canal Street Cemetery in the spring. Friends of the family may call Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 32 South Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778 or Greene Emergency Squad 30 Birdsall Street, Greene, NY 13778.
