Gary L. McLean

Gary L. McLean, 68 of Oxford, formerly of Smithville and Greene, died on Monday, May 24, 2021. Although he has left us physically, we all have our own special memories of him. He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Rebecca McLean; his first wife, Teresa Hayes; her parents, Don and June Hayes; brother-in-law, David Button and father-in-law, Frank Carlin. Gary is survived by his wife, Christine Ross; his sons, Shawn (Gretchen) McLean and Kevin (Kim) McLean; grandchildren, Ryan, Abbie and Nora; sisters, Gloria (John) Dedzej of Minnesota, Shirley McLean of Greene and Connie Button of Smithville; mother-in-law, Erma Carlin; his wife’s siblings, Cliff and Teresa Carlin, Debbie Carlin and Jere Spathelf, and Teresa and Rod Flood; his first wife’s sisters, Donna, JoAnne and Sandy and several nieces and nephews. Gary was a fixture in the village of Greene Electric Department for over 30 years. He started out reading meters and eventually became the senior lineman for the village. He excelled in sports in high school and continued for years in softball, bowling and golf. He had a great passion for fishing, and oh yes in later years, target shooting. Following Gary’s wishes there will be no services, but think of Gary when you have a memory of a time shared with him.
