Gary J. Husband

Gary J. Husband, 85 of Greene passed away peacefully at Binghamton General Hospital Palliative Care unit surrounded by his loving family on August 26, 2024. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl H. and Mary E. Husband; siblings, Donald Husband, Alan Husband, and Jon Husband; and life-long best friend and wife, Patricia.  Gary is survived by his daughter, Maureen Kimble; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Maureen Brazill-Husband, Joseph and Johanna Husband; grandchildren, Benjamin (Meaghan), Eric (Katelyn), John (Megan), Ethan, Collin, Lilliana, Tommy and Jazmyne; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia (Husband) and Jack Walsh, Gail Husband; sister-in-law, Jean Downs; many nieces, nephews and many friends in New York and Florida. Gary was a longtime devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church in Greene. He served as a US Naval crewman aboard the USS Everglades (AD-24) and a retired longtime member of the Plumbers and Pipe-fitters Local Union 112. His hobbies included golfing, puzzling, and traveling. In his travels with Pat, they visited every state except for two and also visited England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. He was admired for his sense of humor, willingness to help anyone, and his strong work ethic. He loved and was very devoted to his family and friends and found great happiness in playing with his grand and great grand kids. A memorial mass will be held 10:00am Friday, August 30, 2024 with a luncheon to follow at Immaculate Conception Church, 1180 NY-206 Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call from 9:00am Friday until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, Greene Emergency Squad, Greene Food Bank or Binghamton General Palliative Care.
