Douglas Palmer of Greene

On Saturday, December 16, 2023, Douglas Palmer passed away at the age of 76. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Nancy Utter Palmer; parents, Rodman and Virginia Palmer and in-laws, Richard and Carol Utter. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Jeffrey Marks, his siblings, Richard and Veronica Palmer, and Barbara and Dan Ellsworth. He is also survived by his in-laws, Linda and Ben, Rick and Jodie, Steve and Donna, Amy and Rick, Jim and Kim, and several nieces and nephews. In his younger years Doug enjoyed hunting, fishing, and backpacking. Doug was a talented taxidermist and graphic artist. He spent much of his career in marketing and retired from Mirabito Energy Products. Doug was a lifelong golfer. He was a member of the Genegantslet Golf Course and was a great competitor in the annual Member Guest Tournament with his nephew Chris Palmer. It brought him immense joy to cook Sunday dinners for Ashley and Jeffrey, and make memories with his family. Calling hours will be held at Root Funeral Home 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778 on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a service to follow.
