Dorothy Turrell

Dorothy Irene Turrell, of Greene, passed away peacefully February 20, 2023 at the age of 96 surrounded by her family.  She was born September 2, 1926 to the late Louie and Mary Hoag (Parks). She was also predeceased by her amazing husband, Frank Anthony Turrell and their cherished son, Patrick Louis Turrell.  She is survived by her loving sister, Nancy Bromley, whom she lived with in Greene for the past two years.  She is also survived by her niece, Gair Adams (husband Tom); their children, Ben (wife Rachel) and Sam; her nephew, Jason Bromley (wife Season) and their children John, Sophia, Olivia and Reagan. Dot was a longtime resident of Dothan, AL and a faithful member of St. Columba Catholic Church.  She owned and operated a successful small business, Dot’s Chuck Wagon, for many years, serving her own chili and barbeque sauce recipes. She was a longtime golfer and member of the Dothan Country Club, Women of the Elks, bridge club, aquacise program, and a festive birthday club. She was a HUGE Alabama Crimson Tide football fan and also of Atlanta Braves’ baseball.  Aunt Dot was a spirited lady, the life of every party, and a shining light in this world.  Dot’s family wishes to thank caregivers Cassie Wilber and Lauren Shafer, Dr. Steven Spivak, and the wonderful staff of Seton 2nd Floor Our Lady of Lourdes hospital. A memorial mass will be held 11:00am Friday, April 21 at Immaculate Conception Church, 1180 NY-206, Greene, NY 13778 with committal to follow at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Greene Emergency Squad, St. Columba, or the Immaculate Conception Church in Greene.
