Donald “Chip” L. Wedge, Jr., of Greene, NY, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, after a brief illness. Chip was born on June 23, 1947 in Binghamton, son of the late Donald L. Wedge, Sr. and Kathleen H. Wedge. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Catherine G. (Bogush) Wedge and his young brothers, William and Joel. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Natalie Wedge, grandchildren Asher and Anjali; his daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Wedge and Matthew Fiorelli, granddaughter Rosie and his cousins, Elizabeth, Jackie, Barbara, Sally, Chris, Valerie, and Jerry and their families. He leaves behind his longtime friends the Santini family, Dan and Nancy Harrington, and Leona and Ralph Smith. After his graduation from Ithaca College in 1969, Chip and Catherine married in Ithaca, where Chip began a long career centered on advertising and promotion, working over the years for Ithaca Agway and the Ithaca Times. In 1995, Chip and his family were able to relocate from Trumansburg to Chip’s boyhood home, Millstone House, in Greene, which brought fulfilment and joy for the rest of his life. Chip will be remembered for his talent, determination, self-motivation, attention to detail, musical ear, and caring spirit. A memorial service will be held 3:00pm Saturday, December 3 at Zion Episcopal Church, 10 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call Friday, December 2 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778.
