Donald Raymond Hayes

Donald Raymond Hayes, 88, Greene, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2020. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, June (Excell) Hayes; his parents, Donald E.  and Beatrice Hayes and his daughter, Teresa McLean. Donald is survived by his daughters, Donna (David) Melville, Joanne Clark (Mike Flowers), and Sandy (Mike) Introvatolo; son -in-law, Gary McLean; sisters, Patricia Hayes, Doris Ferguson, and Linda Hayes; brothers, Richard (Lynette) Hayes and William (Barb) Hayes; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; many cousins and close friends. Donald graduated from Greene Central School class of 1951. He entered the Air Force in 1952. When he returned from Japan, he married June in 1955. After years of working as a mechanic on the trucks at his father’s garage, he got a job at NY Telephone and was there until he retired in 1990. Donald and June became snowbirds spending half of his retirement years in Spring Hill, Fl. A funeral service will be held 1:00pm Wednesday at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call Wednesday from 11:00 to 1:00om at the funeral home.
