Donald Barry Obituary

Donald A. Barry, 80, of Greene, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald P. and Florence Kelly Barry. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey and Anita Barry and their sons, Nathan and Owen of Greene, Susan and Glen Montgomery and their son, Cole of Richboro, PA, Peggy and Frank Thurber and their sons, Devin and Aidan of Allentown, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Mason Morenus and their children, Betsy Gray and Luke Morenus all of Homer. Don graduated from Homer High School Class of 1956 where he was a member of the Homer Athletic Hall of Fame. He then graduated from Clarkson University in 1960 with a mechanical engineering degree. He served his country in the United States Army for 6 years and retired from IBM Endicott after 37 years of service. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and especially with his grandsons. He will forever be in our hearts. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 15 from 12:30 to 2:30pm in Immaculate Conception Church Social Hall. The funeral service will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­ Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256. Arrangements are under direction of Root Funeral Home 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
