Dianne E. Urda

Diane E. Urda, 76 of Cortland and formerly of Smithville passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023. She was predeceased by her husband, David; parents, Gerald and Ruth Tennant and by her sister, Kathy. She is survived by three sons and daughter-in-law, David and Michelle Urda of Endicott, Michael Urda of Willeysville and Stephen Urda of Homer; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; her roommate companion, Dick Bennett and many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she all loved. Dianne raised her family on their farm in Smithville, after which she worked at Cornell University. She loved music and played bass guitar for many years in her bands, County Line and Doin Time. She was a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Greene. Friends of the family may call Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10:00am until 11:30 am at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, NY 13778. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to Virgil Fire Department and Emergency Squad or to Immaculate Conception Church in Greene.
