Della Anne Kenyon Obituary

Della-Anne (Eaton) Kenyon, 69, of Binghamton, NY and formally of Greene, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family after an extended illness on June 15, 2024. She was born May 21, 1955 in Oxford, NY and raised in Greene, NY. She was predeceased by her parents, Mahlon B. (1963) and Winifred M. Eaton (2000) Greene, NY; aunt, Betty Blakeslee (2013) Brisben, NY; and niece, Jamie Eaton (1983) Scotia, NY. Della-Anne is survived by her three J’s, two sons, Jason Kenyon and Jonathan Kenyon, and special grandson, Jason Kenyon, Jr., Binghamton, NY. Della-Anne also leaves behind her sister, Carolyn Frysinger, York, PA and four brothers, Harvey (Lorraine) Warshawsky, Spring Hill, FL, Earl (Ann) Eaton, Greene, NY, Denny (Kirsten) Eaton, Greene, NY and Ken (Beverly) Blakeslee, Calhoun, GA; cousin Brenda (Doug) Kenyon, Brisben, NY; two nieces, Jenna Walston, Alpharetta, GA and Sarah Eaton, Greene, NY; two nephews, Cliff (Julia) Warshawsky, Staten Island, NY and Ben Eaton, Binghamton, NY. Also, many great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends. Della-Anne grew up in Greene, NY and attended Greene High School. At a young age she dreamed of modeling and being surround by palm trees. In the late 1970’s, she married Stephen Kenyon, had her first son Jason and got her dream of moving to Fort Lauderdale, FL. She spent several decades in South Florida enjoying long walks on the beach, traveling and modeling. It was hard to find Della-Anne not dressed to the nines, wearing fancy jewelry, makeup fully done and looking like a movie star. She could be strong, direct, no-nonsense and fiercely independent. However, Della-Anne had a kind and gentle spirit toward her family and friends. She had quick wit, great sense of humor and the stories she would tell held everyone’s attention wanting to hear more. She was an excessive gift giver and wanted all those close to her to be happy. Her story would be, without a doubt, a great novel! Later in life, family lead her back to Binghamton where she spent her later years enjoying her family, spending time with friends and caring for all animals, especially her two Pomeranian dogs, Suzie & Lacy. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Della-Anne’s name to the Broome County Dog Shelter, 110 Cutler Pond Road, Binghamton, NY 13905. Arrangements are under the direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.rootfh.com.
