Debbie J. Shampang

Debbie J Shampang, 57 of the Afton area passed away during a hospital stay in Cooperstown on March 25, 2021. Debbie was born June 8th 1963 to Edward and Patricia Poole in Johnson City. Debbie is predeceased by her parents, her brother John Poole, and granddaughter Maggie Whitmore. She is survived by her beloved sons, Ryan Whitmore and David Whitmore (both of Afton); her grandson Trenton Whitmore and grandchildren Kelsea and Layne Shampang; her sisters Sandy Poole, Sherrie Johnson, Vickie Stinard and Susan Poole; several nieces and nephews; longtime friend Pat Seitz and many others. She was cherished by endless friends, co-workers and customers from her jobs as a waitress for The Afton Cafe and rocking the Dunkin' drive-thru in Bainbridge, New York. Debbie lived the simple life; She loved to work, take care of others - often in the form of giving gifts (Christmas was her absolute favorite), lend anyone an ear or a hand and make you laugh like no other.
