David E. Davis

David E. Davis of Oxford, 85, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 19, 2024.  He was predeceased by his parents, Floyd and Wilma Davis and sisters-in-law, Alice Davis and Linda Davis.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie (Gridley) Davis, Oxford; three children and spouses, Brenda and Warren Strauss, Norwich; Alan and Debra Davis, Oxford; Tim and Jenny Davis, Oxford; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Clifford and Sharon Davis, Greene, John Davis, Greene, William Davis and friend Ruth, Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  David attended school in Brisben until 6th grade and graduated from Greene Central School.  David started his career working on his Uncle Harold’s farm, delivered bottled milk to people’s homes, delivered bulk can milk to the factory, worked for many years at Chenango Farm Supply in Brisben while also operating their family dairy farm in Oxford from 1960 until 2006.  He was an active member of the Brisben Fire Department for 63 years where he also served as Fire Chief for many years. A graveside service will be held 1:30pm Tuesday at Warn-Tenbroeck Cemetery in Brisben. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Chenango County SPCA 6160 County Road 32 Norwich, NY 13815  or to Hospice of Chenango County 33-39 Court Street Norwich, NY 13815.
