Christopher John Phillips, 55 of Greene, New York passed away unexpectedly on February 28, 2022. He was the son of Arthur (deceased) and Nancy H. Phillips of Greene, NY. Chris was a very talented carpenter. He began his carpentry career in Connecticut and then relocated to Hilton Head, South Carolina where he lived and worked for ten years. Then he moved back to Greene, New York. Chris shared a great love of the St. Lawrence River with his maternal grandparents, Howard and Elizabeth Hart (deceased). He spent some of the best times of his life at Sand Bay and other places on the river. Chris is survived by his son, Christopher John Phillips Jr. who brought him great love and pride. Chris Jr. was born in South Carolina where they enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities which they continued to share. He is also survived by his brother, Daniel and wife, Jennifer of New Hartford and their children, Matthew and Madison: his Uncle Howard Hart and his wife, Theresa Hart: several cousins, the mother of his son, Denise Block, and a special friend, John Davies. Chris’ family would like to speak the truth about his death. Speaking the truths (no matter the circumstances) surrounding the epidemic of drug use may be the difference between life and death for someone. Although Chris was not able to save himself, he would be very pleased if this could be of help to anyone else.
