Charlotte E. Smith

Charlotte E. Smith, 84, of Greene has gone to be with the Lord on April 4, 2026 after a long battle with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. She was predeceased by her husband, Erwin L. Smith; parents, Charles and Wilma Whitmarsh; and aunt, Barb Walling. She is survived by her son, Chuck Smith of Endicott; daughter and son-in-law, Yvonnne and Gust (Smith) Freeman; grandchildren, Mikaela Smith, Vincent Smith, GeorgAnna Smith, Collin Freeman and Gavin Freeman; great-grandson, Maverick; sister, Shirley Cody of Lawrenceville, NJ; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends. Charlotte loved taking care of children. She spent most of her life being a dedicated day care provider. She liked watching her daily Soap Operas. She always had a meal on the table for dinner while the kids were growing up. She enjoyed her daily walks with her Aunt Barb and friend Carlene where they would stop and grab a cup of coffee. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be dearly missed. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Arrangements are by Root Funeral Home, 23 N.
