Charles "Chuck" Hissin

Charles “Chuck” Hissin, 74, of Greene passed away peacefully on October 24, 2022. He was predeceased by his first wife, Janette and parents, James and Evelyn Hissin. Chuck is survived by his wife, Bridget Gilligan; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Michael White; son, David Hissin; step-son, Sean Dexter; grandchildren, Abigail (Sierra) White and Jackson (Natasha) White; siblings, Barbara, Ted, Terry, Mary, Don, Dick and their families; loving sister-in-law, Anita Bertoline; nephew, Anthony (Kristen Marqusee) Bertoline and great niece, Gianna. Chuck graduated from Chenango Valley High School in 1967 and was a standout athlete. Chuck was most proud of his athletic and coaching accomplishments. He was inducted in to the 2021 Southern Tier Bowling Conference Hall of Fame for his successful bowling career. He was known as "Mr. 300" by bowling a perfect score of 300, 17 different times at 5 different houses across the Southern Tier. When Chuck was not bowling he was coaching softball at Greene High School which he did for many years. He also coached Broome Community College's women's basketball team and was coach of the year in 1995 and won the 1st Mid-State Championship in BCC history in the 1997-1998 season. He also loved to golf, played fast pitch softball and coached football. Chuck had a love and passion for all sports and excelled at everything he tried and coached. A graveside service will be held 11:00am Friday, October 28 at Sylvan Lawn Cemetery in Greene. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference, 1182 Chenango St, Binghamton, NY 13901 or the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 North McKinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760.
