Carmine Paul Pezzino Sr., 82, of Greene passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mimi Pezzino; son, Carmine Pezzino Jr.; brother, Joseph; sister, Connie and grandson, Anthony. Carmine is survived by his wife, Milady Pezzino; children, Peter (Linda) Pezzino, Geraldine McCarthy, Paul Pezzino, Connie Hendrickson, Victoria Pezzino, John (Tara) Pezzino, Eddy (Anna) Pezzino and Angelica Pezzino; 27 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. At a young age, growing up in Africa, Carmine spent his time hunting (sometimes with his handmade rifle), and fishing on the coasts. After moving to the U.S. in 1955, Carmine finished his education at Brooklyn Tech and had his first paid job in a shoe factory. With his perseverance and ambition to achieve the American dream Carmine became an entrepreneur while in his young twenties and opened 4 beauty salons in the boroughs of New York City, he had numerous patented inventions and started his family legacy with his late ex wife Barbara Segal.
In 1979, Carmine decided to bring his family to upstate New York and purchase his "paradise", the family farm, where he operated a dairy farm with his wife Milady and children. As his family grew, so did Carmine's ambitions, and yet again he started a new venture. Mimi's Italian Cuisine in Greene was opened Valentine's Day of 1991 and soon after expanded to another location in Hillcrest. Carmine and his wife Milady were relentless with their constant support and love for their community in Greene and the school their children attended. They donated to various local groups, clubs, graduates, preschools, theater productions, sponsored JRC athletic teams and anything related to the positive growth of the children in the community.
After retiring in 2018 with his wife Milady, Carmine enjoyed relaxing at his farm and spending time with his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who brought him immense joy and peace. Carmine was a self sacrificing man, a loving husband, a guiding light for his children, a devoted grandfather and a loyal friend.
