Carlton L. Rockwell "Cork", 86, of Greene passed away on March 7, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, Llewellyn "Bus" and E. Evelyn "Bunny" (Quinn) Rockwell; brother, Douglas Rockwell; sister, Kay Lee; and son-in-law, William Cavalier. Cork is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Bernice (Furman) Rockwell; sister, Christine (Chris Preston) Rockwell; son, Douglas (Robert Bloom) Rockwell; daughter, Debra Cavalier; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela (Mark) Smith; daughter, Sharon Linne; grandchildren, Nicole Livingston, Adam Livingston, Casandra (Michael Bell) Cavalier, Katelyn Cavalier, Amy (Scott) Zuehlke, Dominic Spirito (Jenelle Raiser), Anthony (Jessie) Spirito, Allison Linne, Andrew Linne, Bianca Bloom (Elden) Bennett ; great-grandchildren, Ameila McFiggins, Abigail McFiggins, Giulia Spirito, Finnley Zuehlke; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Cork graduated from Greene Central School class of 1957 and then earned an associates degree in Aerospace Engineering from Broome Tech. He used that specialized degree to work at Singer Link where he was highly valued and respected. He was one of the founders of Boy Scout Troop 142 in Greene and was the first scout leader. He was a member of the American Chestnut Foundation. He was also a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Greene. He was a loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Friends of the family may call from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, March 13 at Root Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, March 14 at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Cork's name to the First United Methodist Church of Greene, 32 S. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778 or to the Mary Cariola Center (note “Bailey Road House” in the memo line), 700 Bailey Road, West Henrietta, NY 14586.
