Bruce C. Mellem

Bruce C. Mellem, 82, of Greene went to be with the Lord on December 1, 2025. He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer and Mabel Mellem; son-in-law, William Hughes; and granddaughter, Addalynn Mellem. Bruce is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jacky Mellem; daughter, Kristen Hughes; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Michelle Mellem; grandchidren, Allison, Natalie and Ian Hughes, Aiden and Elise Mellem; sister, Calista Mowry; and several nieces and nephews. Bruce worked and retired from NYSEG. He liked to bake fancy breads and sweet cinnamon rolls. He was an avid pistol shooter and belonged to Interstate Pistol Association. He was a jack of all trades and a do-it-yourselfer at home and for many others, including the Greene Alliance Church. A memorial service will be held at the Greene Alliance Church, 126 Meadow Dr, Greene, NY 13778 on December 10, 2025 at 2pm. A graveside service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bruce's name to the Greene Alliance Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Root Funeral Home, 23 N.
