Beverly Day Obituary

Beverly Jean Day, 95, of Greene, passed away on May 11, 2026. She was born on April 22, 1931. She was predeceased by her father and mother, C. Fred and Alice Moran, husband and true love of 68 years, Ralph Day, brother, James Moran, and granddaughter, Debbie Pigos. She is survived by her children, Eileen Ozvold, Barbara and Michael Virgil, George and Lou Ann Day, Diane and Bill Angell, Keith and Lisa Day, Glenn and Susanne Day; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren with another arriving soon; sisters-in-law, Elsie Bickford and Helen Halom; and many nieces and nephews. Mom graduated from Greene Central School in 1949 and was married later that year. Family was the most important thing to Mom. She always put the needs of her family before her own. She had a deep faith and was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Greene and the United Methodist Women. While raising her six children, she worked side by side with Dad in their print shop, Tri-Town Printing, for ten years. Mom was a Deputy Clerk for the Town of Greene and served as a poll worker for elections. She volunteered at numerous community events, such as the Greene Labor Day Picnic and baked many pies for the Greene Apple Fest. Mom and Dad, with the help of family, built their home, where she lived for 72 years. She enjoyed having company over and visiting friends and neighbors, always greeting guests with a smile at her door. She took daily walks, often strolling hand-in-hand with Dad. Mom was an excellent cook and baker with her apple pie and icebox cake ranking among family’s favorites. She embraced every holiday and special occasion, making them memorable for family members. Mom loved gardening, spending hours at a time tending to her flowers, watching the wildlife in her backyard, and was an avid reader. She looked forward to attending and supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at multiple sporting events and activities. She always had a positive outlook and a great sense of humor. Friends of the family may call from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, May 17th at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene, NY 13778. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church Bereavement / Women’s Fund (32 S. Chenango St., Greene).
