Betty Lou Fairchild

Betty Lou Fairchild, 88, of Greene, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018. She was born on March 21, 1930. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley; son, George William “Bill” Fairchild and by her brother Robert Harrington and his wife Kay. Betty Lou is survived by her children, Danny and Nancy Fairchild of Freeville, Julie Ann Bolender and Frank Beckwith (her primary care giver) of Greene, sister Joan and brother in law Chuck Stewart of Trumansburg; sister, Peggy Moxley and husband Cleon Salisbury of Greene, daughter-in-law, Ann Fairchild , Ann’s daughter Natalie McMahon with Gavin and Ellie all of Greene; grandchildren, Dustin and Dallas Fairchild, Sam and Maressa Fairchild, Al Pitterelli; great grandchildren, Dillon, Emily and Maddox Fairchild; many nieces and nephews. She graduated from Greene Central High School in 1947. Betty Lou loved baking cookies and pies. She was the pie maker, cook and waitress at the Corner Restaurant for over 40 years. She enjoyed running bake sales for the Greene Grange and First United Methodist Church of Greene. A memorial service will be held 6:15 pm Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Root Funeral Home, 23 North Chenango Street, Greene, New York 13778. Friends of the family may call Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Root Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Church or the Greene Emergency Squad, 30 Birdsall Street, Greene, NY 13778.
