Bernard Cooper Obituary

Bernard “Bernie” Cooper, 86, of Greene, NY passed away on February 14th, 2026, with his loving family by his side.

In his last days he was surrounded by his family; especially his son, Christopher who loved and cared for him to the very end.

Bernie is survived by his loving son and his wife, Christopher and Kathryn; and his most treasured gift, grandson, Carter Thomas. As well as stepson, James and many nieces and nephews.

Bernie was predeceased by his loving wife, Christine, who he missed terribly and are now joined together, also his father, William Cooper; mother, Florence Lovaglia; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Cunningham; brother, Micheal Bates and brother-in-law, John Powell.

Bernie had a passion for sharing his stories and pictures about his time spent in the Navy and the drum and bugle core, especially with his grandson Carter. Bernie worked for IBM for over 30 years. After retiring, he enjoyed working at Lowes for 10 years in Norwich, meeting and helping people who came his way. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his son and driving with the top down in Christine’s mustang. He loved spending time with his grandson Carter, watching soccer and lacrosse games, and their trips to Wal-Mart. Bernie loved his family and will be missed every day.

Bernie’s family would like to extend our sincere thanks to his special neighbors who were always willing to help him out.

Per Bernie’s wishes, funeral services will be held later in the spring.
