Barbara M. Sherwood of North Fenton

April 19, 1935-December 20, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Barbara, on December 20, 2023. However, it is a comfort to know she has been released from the debilitating effects of Parkinson’s Disease and has gone to meet her Savior and loved ones who went before her. Mom is now in Heaven sharing her Christmas music with the angels. Barbara is survived by her husband of seventy years, Lawrence; sons, Dennis (Theresa), Mark (Brenda), Scott, Todd (Julie); daughter, Diane( Tim) Jenks; brother, Robert (Sigrid) Chase of Ilford, England and their daughter, Pam (Karl); six grandchildren, Brad (Corinne) Sherwood, Lisa Sherwood, Danny (April) Sherwood, Kelsey (Amanda) Jenks, Meghan (Rickey) Bronson, Peter Sherwood, and ten great-grandchildren. Barbara was a long-standing member and organist of the North Fenton United Methodist Church for more than forty years. She was also an active member of the North Fenton United Methodist Women’s Society and served in many capacities. We would like to thank her many caregivers throughout her illness, Diane S., Denise, JoJo, Sue, Jeff, and Ron, but especially Becky, who went above and beyond in mom’s time of need. We wish to thank the Willow Point staff and Dr. Alex Williams and the Palliative Care Team at Binghamton General Hospital. A memorial service will be held 1:00pm, Sunday January 21, 2024 at the North Fenton United Methodist Church, 5984 NY Route 79, Chenango Forks, NY 13746. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Fenton United Methodist Church.
