Anthony "Tony" Fargnoli

Anthony J. Fargnoli, 74, of Greene passed away on February 1, 2024. He is predeceased by his father, Anthony (Tony) and Louise (Bronson) Fargnoli; half-brothers, Floyd and Bob Vinsin; and father-in-law, Robert Mele. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle (Shelly) Fargnoli; children, Richard (Natasha) Fargnoli, Carrie and family, Tia Lee and Eric (Kelsey) Lee; two very special grandchildren whom he loved very much, Jeffrey (Jeffy) and Hadley (Haddie) Lee; his four legged companion, Ellie Rae; mother-in-law, Lillian Quinn; siblings, Ray (Anne), Rick, Gary (Connie) and Lynn Martin; and many nieces and nephews. Tony graduated from Owego High School class of ’67 and went on to Oswego College. Tony served in the Army and National Guard for over 20 years. He retired from Chenango Forks Schools with over 30 years of service. Tony enjoyed fixing anything and everything. He loved spending time with his grandchildren Jeffy and Hadley; they were the apples of Papa’s eye and he always had a ‘stash’ of candy ready for them. They enjoyed going to Wildwood, NJ to the ocean and watching his TV shows, especially football. Tony touched so many lives and is loved by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held 1:00pm Monday, February 5, 2024 at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St, Greene, NY 13778. Friends of the family may call from 11:00am until the time of service at Root Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chenango County SPCA, 6160 County Road 32, Norwich, NY 13815.
